By the time Wednesday rolls around, there's only one thing that will ensure that I make it to the weekend ... a big, hearty BURRITO. Wrap it tight, roll it right. Give me rice and give me beans and me love you longtime. Give it to me in a Taco Cabana tortilla and I will slave for your happiness.
Naturally, I head to the Cabana (lower Greenville location, of course) earlier today to get my carb indulgent fix and lo and behold, there before me at the salsa bar, are LARGE to go containers. If you frequent the TC like I do, you're familiar with the cramped cups they give you for the delectable dips at the salsa bar. I swear those things aren't any larger than the width of a quarter. What are you suppose to fit in there? A single jalapeno slice? One chip's dip of tomatillo sauce? A couple pieces of chopped onion and tomato from the pico de gallo bin? Absurd, right?!
Well, take a big breath and relax knowing that from now on, the bigger containers (dare I say 5 oz could fit in there?) are now a mainstay of the salsa stall. So taken back by the experience, I spoke with Sonia, manager of Taco Cabana, who told me, "We like them too! It's so much easier for customers to use the larger containers. It was the right choice."
Yes, Sonia, it was the right choice.
